Quantitative social science

Research

My research asks how publics come to know, trust and form attitudes towards science and technology. I pursue these questions mainly through large-scale surveys, and in recent years have turned the same tools on science itself, working on research integrity and metascience.

Drums

Music

I trained at Berklee College of Music. Following that I worked in community music education and have worked as a performer and recording artist in various settings ever since.

More Less

I have worked with Courtney Pine, John Stevens, The Triffids, Audrey Riley, The Apartments, Shane MacGowan and Nick Cave. For five years I toured and recorded with The Fatima Mansions and later worked with Cathal Coughlan in his Grand Necropolitan Quartet.

At the moment I play occasional gigs with my piano trio and I am working on an exciting new project -- Fuzz Kitchen -- that revives the 'Canterbury sound' of bands like Hatfield and the North, National Health, Caravan and Matching Mole.
